Consulting

With over 15 years of experience in the nonprofit sector, my most requested service is consulting. The opportunity to have someone on your team who can provide the support your fund development efforts need. I understand the nuances and intricacies of navigating funding and the pressures it can often bring.  I also understand that fundraising is a long game, and the results take time to see.  Bringing on a consultant can give you access to a professional with experience to lead a project or guide a team. This can include hands-on project management, appeal writing and management, advising team (board and staff) members, and strategy planning.

Coaching

We will focus on what you need and can achieve within your organization.  How can you improve your fundraising?  We may discuss broad questions about your career, ideas about donor relationships, or what is keeping you from achieving your next big goal.

Coaching includes weekly accountability, special sessions throughout our time together, and monthly (or bi-monthly) coaching calls. Coaching packages are typically 6-12 months in duration to start. We aim to provide you with the tools for success in your fundraising endeavors.

Fundraising Audits and Planning

We have all been there.  We are ready to plan our year, and we have had it on the calendar more than once, but it just keeps getting pushed back.  Fundraising doesn’t stop or pause the planning process. However, it is a vital key to understanding success.

Audit: During a fundraising audit, we will review your track record and understand current fundraising patterns, including donor trends, staff input, and use of development tools. We can identify gaps, issues, or challenges that should be addressed and assess readiness to expand fund development ventures, including major donor portfolios, implement a robust database, and increase income budgets.

Planning: This can be combined with a fundraising audit or done independently. You choose who is involved in the process, and we will bring the tools.

Fundraising Database

A new database?  Editing the old one?  No matter where you are in the data process, your database is vital to your organization.  Customer Relationship Management (CRM) systems should be our go-to place to find out about our donors and our history with them.  When the system isn’t working for us, you can bet it is working against us.

Database Support ranges from cleaning old data, revamping your current system, writing new data entry guidelines, and training your staff.  I am well-versed in DonorPerfect, and it is a system I highly recommend.  I have used Network for Good, Little Green Light, EveryAction, Kindful and can quickly pick up on new databases.

Interim Support

Transitions in fundraising leadership can potentially leave your organization without staff for months. Losing staff is always difficult but in the non-profit world of fundraising it can feel like you are moving backwards.

I work with staff and board members so that you don’t miss a beat.  You can take the time to develop a stronger foundation for new leadership, evaluate what you need from your next candidate and set them up for success.  Interim support can leave you in a stronger position than before the transition.

Jen Davie Consulting offers 30, 60, and 90 day interim support packages to meet your specific needs.  A great staff member is hard to replace but the opportunity for something new is waiting for you.  Contact me today.

Special Events

Fundraising or friend raising.  Making the determination between those two stake holder groups should be top of mind.  Events can bring new constituents right to your front door or give you valuable face-time with current donors.  The execution of events matters to your reputation.  The old saying usually goes, “at the end of the day, people won’t remember what you said or did, they will remember how you made them feel.”

Special events should and will evoke those feelings.  Your guests will remember how they felt being part of your mission.  Let’s make sure they leave with positive thoughts.

*Jen Davie Consulting does not invite guests to events or provide guest lists but is happy to assist in a brainstorming session to create guest lists from your community.

Grant Writing

Grant writing services have enabled our clients to secure funding from corporations and private foundations to support their social impact organizations.  We provide a grant readiness assessment, grant prospect research, and writing and editing grant proposals.
